Dare to be free

Being free is not just having the “means” to do what you please as is commonly misunderstood, in fact such “means” are your cage

Being free is being unconditional about whatever life brings your way (acceptance)

Being free is being unconditional in efforts(towards well being of all) – results will follow when they have to (Karma yoga)

Being free is being compassionate and loving towards everyone/everything (Bhakti yoga)

Being free is transcending body/mind (Jnana Yoga)

Free thySelf 🌻

Soul and beyond

The identifications heaped upon the soul – name, religion, caste, status, title, etc is a barrier to thought itself since you believe that these limitations are “you” and “you” start thinking through these limitations. Nothing is farther from truth than these perceived limitations that are foundations of identification.

Soul is the manifest (Saguna) form of creation, the power still comes from the unmanifest(Nirguna) and both co-exist here and now(Advaita). The created form has some inherent limitations which the substance doesn’t. One who reaches the level of substance knows the Source Code to life itself and what then is not possible to this One?

To reach the substance you have to allow the noise of the form to settle through Samyama to reach Samadhi that is the goal of Yoga – Chitta vritti nirodh

Happy New Year

A new year dawns, so what new have your learnt from the year past and what new have you planned for this year? New horizons, new habits, new attitude towards life. Remember nothing changes unless you do.

What to hold on to, what to let go? After all you are the
master of your fate and
the captain of your soul.

Happy New Year ❤️🌻

Happy Diwali

Each one of us has the light to counter darkness/ignorance but how many of us actually put it to use is anybody’s guess.

As Rumi puts it beautifully- Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.

Happy Diwali

Truth

Every search begins with a desire, even the search for truth. Desire is a start point but cessation of all desires is the destination – so how do you desire, not to desire? Hence the desire for seeking truth leaves you “na murad”(unsuccessful) since desires themselves are the illusion that you need to transcend.

The problem and the solution as Adyashanti beautifully puts it – The truth is that you already are what you are seeking. You are looking for God with his eyes…

Truth unfolds itself when you resonate at its frequency which is Silence….

Why?… Why not?

“Why” and “why not” summarises all human explorations/researches. But not all “why’s” have an answer and not all “why not’s” can be achieved. There always remains something beyond. We all know that the world of matter is simply vibrations at different frequencies, the human senses can pick up the frequencies that resonate at a compatible level, anything above or below that cannot be accessed by human senses – like ultrasound which can be picked up by bats, like night vision which an owl has, etc. So we know that there are frequencies out there that humans cannot experience, likewise each creature has a range of frequencies that it can/cannot pick up but all that is happening in the here and now and each species is experiencing a different world in the here and now.

Every form(species) is like a receiver/transmitter that has specific functionalities that are limited by nature. So whilst humans may create devices that can access ultrasound/night vision, they can’t directly experience what is beyond the forms limitations. Spirituality has the answers that science seeks but since it doesn’t lend itself to causality (Cause-effect) it is rejected. Spirituality seeks to discover that which is the Source of everything which is causeless, eternal and people who discover it have no means of either describing it or giving a specific path to achieving the desired result. However, everyone who has been there says silence is the path.

Now whether you want to walk the path or remain in the realm of causality, well that’s up to you…

Know ThySelf

That you are born, you will surely die;

that you came with nothing and will go with nothing;

that external events are out of your control;

to a large extent so are internal events…

are undisputed facts that are deliberately glossed over

by the ignorant in order to keep chasing pleasures

in relations, senses, possessions & importance of self…

Who cares what life is all about, enjoy as much as you can

pain is inevitable, face it…

On the other hand the seekers of Truth

visit temples/churches/mosques/Guru’s/books;

knowing that what they seek to know, never left them;

but there is comfort in rituals and the company of like minded seekers

Both (chasers & seekers) are deluded and living in denial of the Truth

that is that you are nothing and yet everything

and which can be experienced only in silence

but for which you have to let go of delusions…

Bhishmaraj Purushottam Bam

Today on Baba’s birthday I recollect his advice to Rahul Dravid

“You always play the ball, not the baller/situation. One ball at a time, give it your best, forget the rest”, which holds good for everyone – you always live a moment at a time, give it your best, forget the rest 😊🙏

The Herd

“What the herd hates the most is the one who thinks differently. It is not so much the opinion itself, as the audacity of wanting to think for themselves. Something they do not know how to do.” – Schopenhauer

We are living in a polarised world wherein Voltaires statement “I might disagree with your opinion but am willing to give my life for defending your right to express it.”, no longer holds good. Religion and politics has seeped into all relationships and people are going the extra mile to defend their point of view. Why can’t we simply accept that  reality consists of different points of view and that for one to be right the other needn’t be wrong.

The problem, my friends, is that tolerance/patience levels have plummeted far worse than the stock markets and this is a far bigger problem than the sum of all problems that you can think of. The solution is simple, it begins with you, be the change you want to see in the world, be patient.

Minimum requirement and maximum adjustment are two steps of a happy and successful life.

The Edge

“Because it’s there” is the famous answer given by George Mallory to the question as to why did he want to climb Mount Everest. Most explorations & adventurous endeavours can only be explained in hindsight when the person considered “mad” in his times is hailed as a “pioneer” for being the first one in the field. You can’t explain why you do what you do if it is outside the realm of human understanding at the time.

But it is these crazies who have gone beyond known limits to increase the spectrum of human possibilities.

As Arthur Clarke beautifully put it: The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible
